On someone's suggestion I roughly rolled about 6 strands together, the first attempt nearly got there before breaking. I think the rolling was to loose. Second attempt I rolled tighter and it worked really well and after getting the ember the Lime cordage was still intact. For more pics look at my face book page.
Just had some time to have a go at the bow drill using Lime bark cordage for the string. I collected the Lime bark a couple of years ago and processed it for cordage, it produced a good amount of strands some up to 10 feet long.
