This afternoon I went out with a friend for a walk and to check out what the deer were doing. After a long walk discovering and following tracks, we headed up the wooded valley making our way home. We both spotted a hind at the same time, she looked really healthy and ambled away. We set off to try and get another look and soon heard the below of a stag. slowly we crept closer managing to keep out of sight, until we were only about 20 meters from this amazing stag. He was deep red, bellowing and his antlers looked enormous. We would have tried to get closer for a photo but he was very active, so we just sat still and admired him.
